This Glowth Live Event was part of our InsidersTalk series. This week’s guest was Grace Sanchez, a renowned Retail and Collection Merchandising Manager that worked for some of the world’s most influential brands. 

Leaving her birth country of Peru twenty years ago to settle down in sunny Italy, Grace Sanchez has been shaping the fashion industry thanks to her inspiring work as a retail and collection merchandiser. Working for luxury institutions such as Zegna, Louis Vuitton and most recently Marni, Grace Sanchez has developed an extensive knowledge of what collection merchandising entails, thanks to which she is now a master professor at SDA Bocconi. 

From understanding the difference between retail and collection merchandising to the multiple ways in which a company organizes internally, it is primordial to master the many subtleties of this job role as to become the ideal candidate.

Drawing from the idea that the role of a retail and collection merchandiser is to find “the right item, at the right time, in the right place, at the right quantity, and at the right price”, Grace Sanchez then comes to explain that this role entails an extensive amount of strategizing that can happen both at global and local levels.
